Afternoon Janis,

Located these entries on Fr. Donald Hebert's CD or Southwest Louisiana
Records:

AUGER, Emile m. 16 Sept. 1878 Genevieve BAZINE (Opel. Ct. Hse.: Mar. #
10574)
AUGER, Emile (Lafosse & Aimee AUIT) m. 14 Jan. 1880 Genevieve BASINI (VP
Ch.: v. 2, p. 279)

It appears from all the other AUGER entres that the families were centered
in and around the Opelousas, Grand Coteau, Ville Platte areas. I know this
is not much help, but it may help to know where the family was located.

Andrea Scott

Dear fellow listers: I am not a veteran genealogist, only been doing this
3-4 years. I need the help of some of you real veterans.

I am researching the Auger (Oge, Ogea) surname, mostly in Louisiana. I have
traced up to my g-great grandparents, Emile Auge' and Genevieve Bazinet.
Emile's parents were Lafosse Auge' and Aimee Avil. Their names were found
on
the church marriage of Emile and Genevieve.

I am trying now to find Lafosse's parents, but not been able to. I have
searched census records marriage records.

Can anyone give me any guidance as to how to proceed now? I believe that
Lafosse was possibly related to Joseph Francois Auger who married Celeste
Delafosse, but I don't want an assumption, I want some kind of evidence.
Any help or guidance from any of you listers is appreciated.

Janis
