I have my French Canadian Brossards traced thanks to Carl Broussard from
Abbyville.
Louis Brossard b. June 25, 1745 came from Montreal, Quebec to Louisiana.
He was married to Marguerite Magdalen Lede Benoit b. 1759 I think in Acadia.
Louis died 1800 in Avoyelles Parish.
This Broussard is apparently not related to the Acadian Broussards. At least
there is no evidence of a relationship. Someday we'll get a DNA done on some
of the male relatives, hopefully.
I have seen no evidence that he went to Acadia at any time except that he
married a girl from Acadie. Of course, they could have married in Louisiana.
Could the Louis Broussard listed below on pages 13 & 14 plaque 2 be my Louis
Broussard?
What is this web site?
Margaret Broussard

Hi List,
The book - Wall of Names - list
Victor Broussard
Isabelle LeBlanc
No children listed with them.
At lunch yesterday I looked at the Memorial's web site and printed out all
the Broussard's they say are on the wall or who they have names (not sure
which). There is no Joseph son of Victor and Isabelle on this list. There
are two Joseph's with no birth dates and no parents. On pages 13 & 14
plaque 2 the following names are the only ones not connected to a family:
Augustin Broussard
Francois Broussard
Louis Broussard
Marie Broussard
There is also a Madeleine Broussard (no husband) but indented in as if a
member of her family is Elisabeth Broussard.
Looks like who ever put this info together is as confused over Joseph dit
Beausoleil Broussard death as we are. Then, they could be causing our
confusion. All for me this morning must get ready for work.
