Marie-Françoise Québédeaux was 80 years old at the time of her death, . 31
Dec 1804, it is assumed that her year of birth would have been about 1724.
(Hebert's SWLR v. 1B, p. 601 refers to SM Ch. v. 4, #388). Marie-Françoise
Québédeaux died at her son's Nicolas PROVOST of Bayou Teych. bur. 31 Dec
1804 at age 80 yrs. Fr. Gabriel ISABEY.Hebert's SWLR Vol 1, pg 469 refers to
SM Ch. records for marriage to Provost, but does not provide volume or page.
If 80 years old at death, her year of birth would have been about 1724.
Marie-Françoise Québédeaux was married on 27 July 1745 at St Anne in New
Chartres to Nicolas Prevost, (dit Blondin) , son of CLAUDE PROVOT and
MARIANNE BOULOGNE, and widower from Prairie St Phillippe. The marriage was
recorded in Fort de Chartres Register, Transcript 23; Kaskaskia Mss., Private
Papers, IV. Marie Françoise Québédeaux and Nicolas Prevost, (dit Blondin),
moved to Louisiana with her brother Charles Québédeaux, where another
marriage contract took place at Pointe Coupée on June 6, 1752, possibly at
Morganza.
Nicolas Prevost was the son of CLAUDE PROVOT and MARIANNE BOULOGNE. He was
born Bef. 1724 in Belting's "Kaskaskia Under the French Regime," Polyanthos,
1975, pg 109-110, and died Bef. Apr 1785. Notes for MARIE FRANCOISE
QUEBEDEAUX: Hebert's SWLR v. 1B, p. 601 refers to SM Ch. v. 4, #388 and
provides the following: Marie Francoise QUEBEDEAU wid. of dec. PROVOST, died
at her son's Nicolas PROVOST of Bayou Teych. bur. 31 Dec 1804 at age 80 yrs.
Fr. Gabriel ISABEY.Hebert's SWLR Vol 1, pg 469 refers to SM Ch. records for
marriage to Provost, but does not provide volume or page. If 80 years old at
death, her year of birth would have been about 1724.
Notes for NICOLAS "BLONDIN" PROVOST: Belting's "Kaskaskia Under the French
Regime," Polyanthos, 1975, pg 109-110, under Nicola Blondin, in part, points
out that Nicolas Provot was in Illinois as earlly as 1736, for on March 24 of
that year he was granted three arpents of land at St. Philippe. (American
State Papers, Public Lands, II, map opposite p. 192).
Marriage Notes for MARIE QUEBEDEAUX and NICOLAS PROVOST: Belting's "Kaskaskia
Under the French Regime," Polyanthos, 1975, pg 109-110, under Nicola Blondin,
provides that Nicolas Provot dit Blondin was the son of Claude Provot and
Marianne of Boulogne. His first wife was Marie Therese Kier . . . (?) by
whom he had children. On July 27, 1745, he married Marie Francoise
Quebedeau, daughter of Joseph Quebedeau and Marie Anne Antoine Beau. (Fort
de Chartres Register, Transcript, 23, Kaskaskia Mss., Private Papers, IV).
Belting found records for only three children born of this marriage:
Francoise, Louis, and Jean Baptiste, but has no doubt there were more. The
names of Joseph and Madeline Provot appear in the baptismal register as
sponsors in 1762 and are probably children of Nicolas.

The name of Bondin is a nickname given to Nicolas Prevost when he was a
child, because his hair was so blond, or light. Everybody knew him under the
name of Nicolas Blondin instead of Nicolas Prevost, his realname (This is why
he signed many documents as such). (Anne-Marie Giovingo)
The paternal ancestors of Nicolas Prevost was Ursin Prevost of Canada and
Marie de Beaubois of Basses Pyrenees, France. Maternal ancestors are Pierre
Quebedeau and Francoise Quebedeau of Canada.
