You do not need to take a course in French to understand the genealogical
data contained in Stephen White's books. With just a glance at the key to
words and abbreviations such as:
n = né or née = born
vers = year or circa
Rc - Census
s. = buried, etc.
and
Years:
January = janvier
February = Février
March = Mars
April = Avril
May = Mai
June = Juin
July = Juillet
August = Août
September = Septembre
October = Octobre
November = Novembre
December = Décembre

AND SO ON,

You will be able to learn the important genealogical information, such as
names, names of parents, children, spouses and places. These are very simple
to understand.

It is far better to have the books than to go without the information they
contain. Even if they were written in GREEK.

After all, my not being a Francophone, French is Greek to me.
