For some time, I have been matching the Acadians who arrived in
Louisiana with their Acadian Ancestors and tracing the first few
generations of descendants.
I have begun with the descendants of Daniel LeBlanc and Francoise
Gaudet. As most of us have found, we are connected to all the Acadian
lines so tracing one line such as LeBlanc takes one back to the other
progenitors. Five of their great-grandsons, several
great-grand-daughters and one gg-grandson arrived in Louisiana between
1765 - 1770 along with some of their children and grandchildren. One of
the five great-grandson was my direct ancestor, two others were his
brothers and 4 of their sisters married sons of Joseph Broussard dit
Beausoleil. Numerous others descendants arrived in 1785 and these are
being matched.
Please see the Family Report information on my Research Support page at
http://www.thecajuns.com/genecajn.htm for additional information and the
names of the 5 g-grandsons and the one gg-grandson.
