For those interested in what happened to the descendants who remained in France,
I just discovered the following jewel by Denis Jouan:

Updated 14-07-2002, there are 51,645 records for 4 locations:
Locmaria (1620-1900)
Sauzon (1617-1900)
Bangor (1617-1796)
Le Palais (1643-1699 - with some gaps - see the site)
The site is in french only, but data is data.
