Hi Marcia,

Catherine Doiron married François Turcot abt 1740 at Port-Toulouse, Cape
Breton [today St. Peter's].

Catherine was born Bet. 15 May - 29 June 1709 at Grand-Pré, Acadia and died
14 December 1784 at St-Ours, Québec.

She was the daughter of Jean Doiron and Marie Trahan.

François Turcot was born abt 1718 St-Pierre de Doix, Vendée, France and died
07 August 1789 at St-Ours.

A Turcot descendant sent me this information:

François was the first of the Turcot family to Canada. He arrived at St.
Peters, married and had four children. He lived for a few years on Ile
St-Jean/Prince Edward Island. To escape the deportation, with his wife and
his four children, he went to Quebec in the winter of 1755-56. He obtained
land from in Quebec from Mr. Bigot and was the first colonist in St-Gervais
de Bellechasse.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post to your list, as I very recently received additional
info from a cousin. I am sharing what I have in hopes that someone can help
me sort this out. It seems as if Catherine Doiron's parents were Jean
Doiron and Marie Anne Trahan, but I am not sure if I am understanding the
info correctly as some of it is confusing to me.

This is the info that I have. It would be so great if someone could help
me. (It would be great to discover new cousins as well!)
