Alice, Strasbourg, Germany is the same as Alsace. Up to 1793 Alsace
belonged to Germany, then a French possession; then Germany to 1918;
etc.
Since 1944 it belongs to France. I am on an Alsace site; you can
submit
a query.

I am wondering if anyone can help me out with this.
My maternal grandmother's name was Courts/Coots/Couch. (I found all of
these spellings on different documents.)
Thing is that I hit a BRICK wall years back and cannot seem to go
anywhere with it.
I know that they were of German decent.
Her name was Alice Courts married to a Broussard.
Alice's father was Ulfage Courts m. Lucille Benoit
Ulfage Courts father was Michel Courts m (1) to Cecelia Landry.
Michel Courts father was Armand Courts m. Margaret Celine Dupuis.
Armand was born in 1829 in Strasbourg Germany OR from Alsace Lorraine
from what I found.
Armand went to Louisiana and then married Margaret about 1849.
Does anyone have any information that would further my line?
I sure would be a happy camper if I could find more ancestors.
Thanks in advance.
