Hi Stanley,

The marriage record, along with the source of the Dunkerque information,
is in Fr. Hebert's "South Louisiana Records."

I don't know for a fact that Jean-Pierre and Jean-Hilaire weren't
brothers; it's entirely possible. I've never found anything that would
connect them for sure. Both families ended up in Lafourche Parish (and,
in fact, I descend from both of them). However, just because there's no
other Clement family in the ships' records doesn't mean his family
wasn't there; apparently Vincent and Clement were used fairly
interchangeably by the descendents of Clement Vincent and Madeleine
Levron, so they may have been Vincents in the ships' records and
Jean-Pierre became known solely by Clement after his arrival in Louisiana.

Of course, all of this is speculation. I still don't have any real
evidence that Jean-Pierre was a Vincent.

I'll keep looking....

Thanks for writing,

Gordon
