Maurice, Lucie, Stanley, Paul, and others,

<If both Lucie and I had our Y-DNA tested, could it prove conclusively that
we were both descendants of Daniel? If I understood Gordon's explanation
correctly, I believe this is
true.>

I am not a geneticist, but a librarian trained in research methods, and from
my reading I believe you can conclusively find Daniel's (and all his LE BLANC
ancestors') DNA markers by testing some living LE BLANC males. Lucie,
unfortunately, is not eligible since she is female and has no Y-chromosome to test.
However, if she has a second cousin or nephew or any related male from her line
with a LE BLANC surname, that would confirm her lineage as well.

Perhaps Stanley LeBlanc, Paul LeBlanc, or even Stephen White would be
interested in participating in a LE BLANC SURNAME DNA project. I have a
3xgreat-grandmother who was a LE BLANC, through Acadian immigrant to Louisiana Joseph
(Josine) LE BLANC (abt 1762-1812) who married Marguerite DUON. I would love to have
a LE BLANC descendant of this line join the test. Would someone like to set
up a group project?
