Royal the same day.

Arcenault vol. 1 p. 346) marié vers 1775 a Marie‑Anne Melanτon. n v 1760 ,
d/o Paul Melanτon and Marie Theriot, in 1775 and settles on Bayou Vermillion.
Some of their progeny stayed in the vicinity of Lafayette, others migrated
into Vermillion Parish. (Robert C. West in "An Atlas of Louisiana Surnames of
French and Spanish Origin"
