Roger,

Madeleine Broussard either came to Louisiana with her uncle, Athanase
Broussard or with her uncle, Simon-Joseph LeBlanc. Simon-Joseph LeBlanc's
[my 5th great-granduncle]first wife, Catherine-Louise Thibodeaux died Nov.
25, 1765 and Simon-Joseph married Marguerite Guilbeaux about 1767-68.
Marguerite was a sister of Francoise who married Madeleine Broussard.

On the List a few years ago, there was a discussion on the family of
Jean-Gregoire Broussard, son of Joseph dit Beausoliel Broussard. Below
is a summary of my research on this family to date. Corrections or
additions would be welcome.

Jean Gregoire Broussard

Jean-Gregoire Broussard, b 24 June 1726, son of Joseph Broussard (White
p. 285) and Agnes Thibodeau (White p. 1517) married ca 1750 Anne
LeBlanc, born 22 May 1728, daughter of Rene LeBlanc (White p. 990) and
Anne Theriot (White p. 1490).

Children:
Elizabeth born ca ?
born ca ?
Madeleine born ca 1753
Anne born ca 1755

Jean-Gregoire Broussard died before 1760 when Anne LeBlanc married a
second time to Pierre-Benjamin Bourgeois.

Pierre-Benjamin Bourgeois, born 17 May 1726, son of Claude Bourgeois
(White p. 255) and Marie LeBlanc (White p. 993), married 1) ca 1754
Cecile Aucoin (White p. 50), born ca 1726, daughter of Rene Aucoin and
Madeleine Bourg.

Children:
Anne born ca ?
Marie born 14 June 1755
Anastasie born ca 1759

Cecile Aucoin died before the 1760 remarriage of Pierre.

In the Fort Edward prisoner lists are found:

5 October 1761 Benj n Bourgeois 9 members
12 July 1762 Benj. n Bourgeois 8 members
9 August 1762 Benj n Bourgeois 8 members
11 October 1762 B n Bourgeois 9 members

On 12 July and 9 August, Pierre-Benjamin was in Halifax awaiting
deportation.

My research indicates those listed on 11 October 1762 may be:

Pierre-Benjamin Bourgeois age 36
Anne LeBlanc, age 34
Anne Bourgeois age ?
Marie Bourgeois age 7
Anastasie Bourgeois age 3
Elizabeth Broussard age ?
Marie Broussard age ?
Madeleine Broussard age 9
Anne Broussard age 7

Most of this family remained in New Brunswick where Anne Leblanc died
before the marriage of Pierre-Benjamin Bourgeois ca 1771 to Anne
Thebeau, daughter of Jacques Thebeau (White p. 1483) and Anne Melanson
(White p. 1162). Pierre-Benjamin died 24 November 1821.

Anne Bourgeois married ca 1790 Amand Thibodeau, son of Germain
Thibodeau (of Philippe, White p. 1511) and Marie Babineau (of Jean,
White p. 65).

Marie Bourgeois married ca 1775 Joseph Arsenault, son of Claude
Arsenault (White p. 23) and Marguerite Richard (White p. 1380).

Anastasie Bourgeois married ca 1778 Francois LeBlanc, son of Joseph
LeBlanc (of Claude, White p. 991) and Marie Doiron (of Pierre, White p.
518).

Elizabeth Broussard married 30 August 1768 Francois Bourg. son of
Jean-Baptiste Bourg (White p. 233) and Marie Theriot (White p. 1500).

Marie Brousard married 24 August 1771 Pierre Bourg, son of
Jean-Baptiste Bourg (White p. 233) and Marie Theriot (White p. 1500).

Anne Broussard married ca 1779 Charles Melanson, son of Charles
Melanson (White p. 1166) and Anne Breau (White p. 278).

It seems one child of Jean-Gregoire Broussard and Anne LeBlanc did not
stay in New Brunswick. It appears that Madeleine, born ca 1753, came to
Louisiana with her grandfather, Joseph dit Beausoliel Broussard

Joseph Broussard was buried in Attakapas on 20 October 1765 and in the
1766 Attakapas census is found:

Franco. Brousard et huersana [Spanish for female orphan]

My research indicates these may be:
Francoise Broussard age 21 [daughter of Joseph Broussard]
Magdeleine Broussard age 13 [orphan of Jean-Gregoire Broussard and Anne
LeBlanc]

In the 1769 Attakapas census is found:
Francois Broussard age 23 [son of Joseph Broussard]
Wife [Pelagie Landry age 20]
Claude Broussard, brother age 21
Amand Broussard, brother age 19
Magdeleyne Broussard age 16 [orphan of Jean-Gregoire Broussard and Anne
LeBlanc]
Elizabeth Broussard age 6 [orphan of Athanase Broussard and Anne-Marie
Bourgeois]

In 1772, Madeleine Broussard married Francois Guilbeau, son of Joseph
Guilbeau (White p. 782 ) and Madeleine Michel (White p. 1184).
