I just wanted to say that my heart and my prayers to all of those involved
with this years recent tragidy caused by Katrina. I hope that through this
adversity that we will have the same courage and strength that this country
has been known for. That we would become more resilliant and wiser, and
that we would demonstrate the will to press forward as our ancestors did in
history, whether it was by war, by exile, or the great depression.
In history, when ever we have faced the fears of man-made or natural
disasters, It makes us realize as humans; how vulunerable we are. LIFE is
so precious, a tremendous gift. A unique feature that I think that WE have
as French Canadian/Acadian/Cajun descent people is the fact that in all of
North America, we are all cousins one way or another. NO other group can
profess this. We are all related by those pioneers who took the first step
towards "the great unknown" which later became known as Nouvou
France/Acadia/Canada.
This event makes one open their eyes up to the best, and also the worst in
people. I'm avoiding any political comments because I do believe that we
possess more power than that. " ...For the people, by the people..." is what
comes to mind. I use to volunteer for the red cross for earthquake relief
in California. I know the hard work that goes into it. I just would like
to urge others to help. I will stand down from my soap box now. God bless
you all.
