Subject: [ADAMS-L] Robert Lester Adams born NY bout 1826 died in OR in 1890's

Hi again everyone,
I am still trying to locate the parents and/or brothers and sisters of Robert
Lester Adams. He first surfaces in Kane Co.,Illinois, in 1850, married to
Margaret Hilts and living with his father-in-law Solomon Hilts. They had no
children yet, so were probably married in 1849 or early in 1850. Ten years
later the census shows them in Cook Co., IL with 4 children, Mary, John,
Josiah and Senna. In 1870 they were in MN and had two more children William
and George. Since Robert named his first son John, I am looking for a John
as his father, but that may not be right.
I am descended from the daughter Mary.
I believe that Robert and Margaret met and married in Oneida Co., NY., but I
can't seem to find an Adams there with a son of the right age to be Robert in
1840.
About 6 weeks ago I found a message on a bulletin board, from a Mike Adams
who was looking for this family also. I replied to the message (twice), but
never heard from him. Very frustrating.
