Dear Michelle,
Do you have an LDS Family History Library near you? If so, you can check
out the IGI, International Genealogical Index and the Census Records of
IL there. Or, many local libraries have portions or all of the IGI and
larger libraries in IL would have IL Census Records.
That's where I started with my Dad's family, back in 1983, and now have
traced many of his ancestors back to the 400 - 600 AD period in Europe.
If you know what county they were b. or m. in, you can also write to
the courthouse of that county. there will be a charge, but not
exhorbitant.
Good luck,
Betty Sullivan

Unfortunately, all i know is my grandparents name and the dates they were born and died. They came from Illinois. There names are Irvin Adams born January 19, 1883 and married to Ruby Bjorkman born March 30 1905. Irvin died Nov 7, 1975 and Ruby Adams died August 18, 1956. They had 3 children: Ronald Earl Adams (my father), Ruby Marie Adams (now Groot), and James Adams (living in Florida now). I have been unable to get any help from my family regarding our family tree. This is my desperate move to send this in the hopes someone may know who Irvin or Ruby was or have information leading to there parents names. My next move will be to retrieve their birth certificates from the state of Illinois. Does anyone have any info or know where i can start looking. As you can tell I !
