It may be a long shot but here goes. I have been looking for my Adams
ancestors that appeared in MOntgomery County Georgia about 1800.
Montgomery County was a split off from Washington County in 1793. One of
my Adams married an Arthur Davis, Jr. who was the 7th of 10 children born
to Arthur Davis, Sr. b 1755 in Anson Co. N. C. and Mary Vick. Arthur
Davis, Sr. was the 3rd of 11 children of Christopher Davis (B 01-14-1739
in Virginia * D 11-05-1785 in Anson Co. N. C.) and Mary ???. Christopher
and Mary had a son named John b 1761 who was the 8th of 11 children. I
do not know if New Bern N. C. in close to Anson County N. C. or not.
Sometimes families relocated together from one part of the country to
another. I would be willing to share further names, dates, etc.

They later moved to Washington County, Georgia.
>According to the book, Elm Hill and Its People, by James Porter Davis,
1967, the father of Elizabeth Adams was >Willoughby Adams. The book also
says that a Willoughby Adams received land grants around 1744 near New
>Bern, North Carolina.
>Can anyone help me with this family? Any information would be
appreciated. I have searched in the Rootsweb >Archives and Genforum and
am confused on this ancestry.
>Thank you,
