Dear Adams Researchers:
Just in case we have some new members to the list, I will again request
information on my Washington Adams family. Washington was born in OH in
1811/1812. Since I do not know his father's name, I cannot locate his
county in any pre 1850 census listings.
I found Washington Adams in the 1850 census as living in Ligonier, IN.
I also know that he married Laura (Lorry) Hill in 1832 in LaGrange
County, IN. In the 1850 Ligonier IN census Washington is shown with
wife Laura and three children. Mary J Adams age 10, Moses Adams age 6
and Martha Adams age 4.
In 1853 the entire family moved to Mt. Carroll IL (Carroll County) where
in 1861 daughter Mary J. married Andrew J. Christian. I found that
Moses Adams married Mary E. Renshaw in 1863 in Carroll County. I am
uncertain about who Martha Adams married.
I am looking for the parents of Washington Adams in order to trace back
his ancestors. I am also looking for his wife's family. His wife was
born in NY in 1815 and was the daughter of Dr. Moses Hill.
Does anyone out there have information on these families? Thanks for
your help.
Perry Adams.
