Ann: I have some information on John Adams who I have tried, without success,
to connect to my Thomas Adams that came from NC to Davidson Co., TN by 1799
and bought property; however my Thomas died that same year. Your Thomas, the
father of Gen. John Adams, apparently was already here, but I wonder if there
is not a connection.

Are you researching family information or Civil War information? If family, I
can scan and send you a picture of the Bible record by email or there is one
on file at the TN State Library and Archives if it doesn't turn out ok.

The information below was taken from the Bible Record of Thomas Patton Adams:

Thomas P. Adams and Ann Tennant married in Nashville, TN by the Rev. William
Hume? 18th November 1819.

Thomas Patton, third son of Nathan and Martha Adams, born 1st March 1796 in
the town of Stranbam? county of Tynam? Ireland. Emigrated with father and
family to Philada (sic) U.S., Sept. 1811, himself thence to Nashville, Tenn
April 1815.

Anna, only daughter of Christopher and Isabella Tennant of Dunfield Scotland,
born March 1799. Emigrated to Philadelphia in 1808 thence to Nashville,
Tenn., July 1815.
