Hi,
I am not very good on History, but when was Independence Hall built? I know
the info I sent you did not go back very far, as there are none living from
that family except a cousin who is only about 11 years older than I am. I
do know that I am sure that the reason my grandfather Harry was in
Philadelphia, (not sure he was born there) is that he must have worked in
the Mint and was a printer, he was transferred to Washington DC where I was
born and did work in the mint there. I remember when I was in 5th or 6th
grade him taking my brothers and I to tour the Washington DC mint. I am
just assuming that he was born there as his father must be buried there. I
will keep working on that branch and see what I can find.
Janet

Janet, thank you for the reply. I'm also in the early stages of this
segment
of family history. I will hold your information to see where there may be
linkage! I do know that the names you mentioned - Harry, William and Sara
Jane are all somewhere in my family. I'll keep you apprised! ALso, my
father said that our Adams line was in Philadelphia at one time - actually
told me that "we" owned land where Independence Hall was constructed. Can't
prove or disprove that as of now. I'm not sure how to do a land/deed search
for that locale or time frame for Philly. We'll stay in touch.
