I am new to this List. I am interested firstly in finding out if anyone
has knowledge of a William L Adams (wife's name was Marie). His occupation
in 1884 was recorded in an Australian Newspaper article about the marriage
of his son in NSW as a "Commander, Colonel, USA". His son was called
William Thomas Adams, and he married a great aunt of mine and died in 1916
at Sydney, Australia.

I have found a Civil War record of a Private William L Adams of KY who
served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, Union Army but don't know whether
there is any connection.

I would be happy to receive information and to make contact with US
descendents of this family as I have no other information regarding the
American connections. I can assist with information regarding descendents
in Australia.
