Library of Va. at Richmond has a nice "Terrell" Familty history. Try that, I
travel a lot and am currently "on the road"
When I get home I will see if I have a better source for you. Look for a
follow up in a couple of days.
My line goes through John Lynch Adams. Frances' brother.
Looking at what I have with me I also do not have Frances.
I do have:
Robet
Joel Terrell m Dianitia Walden
William m Agatha Lewis
Mary Terrell
John Lynch m Martha Walden
George m Ann Weisinger
Christopher m Matilda Powell
James
Edward
Mildred m George Webb
Amelia m George Webb
Penelope,
A total of 13 children.
Just a side note on "our" family of that vintage.
Moormans, Terrell's, Lynch's, Wards, Johnston's, were all Quakers, to a
greater or lesser degree's. Marraige to people outside of the faith could
get one dissowned, or at least thrown out of the "Society of Friends". The
Joel Terrell above was a "Hard Shell Baptist" preacher, he led a faction of
the Strawberry hill Synod, which seperated from the main body of the area
Baptists. He is mentioned in a book on 18th century Baptist churches of
western Va.
Frances may have been a familiar name, one used instead of her given name?
Who did she mary?
I have had some luck looking for related family histories. The good
genealogists usually go into some depth on the lines which mary into there
studied line.
Along with Terrell I have tried, Clay, Dearing, Ward, Watkins,Moorman,
obviously Adams.
Unless I see primary evidence I DO NOT TRUST the LDS histories. It is a
great place for research, but I have seen the same disapointing attribution
on Our line. ApAdams of Wales is not I believe where we came from.
Good hunting
