Don't ever give up hope - I found someone last year - my Step-Mom adopted a
mentally handicapped girl at the age of 6 and she is now 33. We were looking
for her brother she was close to when she was little. We found him through
a site in Wisconsin. The lady was able to pull him up by his DOB and DL but
it is only for the state of WI.

Keep posting about it. I still think the Census of 1900 and older should
bring up your Uncle's name and hopefully list there was an adoption. Don't
give up hope. Many adoption Registar's that are out there now where you can
list information if you know her name by chance. Also check roots.com and
ancestry.com - I found a lot on my family tree there. God Bless.
