The librarian version has been in existence since 1991. It contains over 80 million records covering the collections of over 41,000 libraries worldwide. Of particular interest to genealogists are the more than 130,000 newspapers published in the United States. Firstsearch (the librarian version of Worldcat) also contains records for millions of manuscript collections across the U.S. Many of these do not appear in Worldcat because the owning libraries don't lend this material via interlibrary loan.
