If not the FHL, there may be another alternative, depending on what you
need. I was at the FHC yesterday to order some records from England and from
Virginia.

The docent/volunteer suggested I order the Virginia records (these are
Library of Virginia) through the public library, ILL from the LVA, at no
cost, rather than the $5.50 from FHL in Salt Lake. Bless her heart!
Challenge is, you have to have a library that has a film reader!

So, check out your local libraries to see which have such a thing. We have
only two in metro Tucson (one is downtown, pay for parking, the other is
'way east, pay for gas, but then, so is the FHC <G>), plus the University
library (close but parking issues there too) and probably the community
college library (again, far away). Guess that's enough whining for today.

Worth a try, either way.

Are family history library films available for ILL? Our local FHL is open
when I am either at work or church, so I can't use it. I was wondering if my
local library could ILL the films.
