JAMES ELLIOTT KINARD, age 81, of Chattanooga died July 9, 2003. Although a
native of El Dorado, Arkansas, Jim lived in the Houston, Texas, area for many
years as consultant and owner of Kinard and Associates, Inc. He was a member of
Sagemont Church in Houston and Golfcrest Country Club, Pearland, Texas. A
graduate of Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana State University with a
Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Jim later taught Chemical Engineering at
Tulane University. He was a former plant manager of Farmers Chemical Association,
Inc., in Chattanooga.During both World War II and the Korean Conflict, Jim
served as Lieutenant J.G. in the U.S. Navy. Preceding him in death are his
parents Organ Elliott and Verna Lewis Kinard and sister Janie Ruth Kinard. He is
survived by his wife, Jan Robbins Kinard of Chattanooga, five daughters-Rusha
Sams and Marsha Mitchell of Knoxville; Cindy Mouch of Friendswood, Texas; Brenda
Kinard of St. Petersburg, Florida; Marilyn Leibenguth of Denham Springs,
Louisiana-and his nine grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Health
Center at Standifer Place for their loving care and Hospice of Chattanooga for
their care and attention. Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga
National Cemetery on Monday, July 14, at 12:30 with Rev. Dan Parker officiating. The
family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home
from 11:00 - 12:00 preceding the service on Monday. Memorial contributions may
be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4355 Highway 58, Chattanooga, Tennessee
37416 or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by the East Chapel of
Chattanooga Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider. This announcement is also
