Good Day All
I am new to the list and I hope I am in the right place to ask a question about Cabinda and in particular the origin of the surname Malagarte or Malgarte. I am researching the life of a man who was a Liberated African (captured as a slave by Portuguese slavers and freed by the Royal Navy c1842) whose details state that he was born in Cabinda around 1832. Has anyone come across this surname at any time?
