Hello Enid,

This is not a very active list I am afraid to say.

>From the National Archives of South Africa I have found this:

DEPOT NAB
SOURCE MSCE
TYPE LEER
VOLUME_NO 0
SYSTEM 01
REFERENCE 305/1953
PART 1
DESCRIPTION FISHER, VICARS WILLIAM MADDISON. BORN IN HOWDEN, YORKSHIRE; ENGLAND. S/SP FISHER, ADRIENNE RAY. FORMERLY ADE
STARTING 19530000
ENDING 19530000

This means that at the Pietermaritzburg Archives (NAB)there is an estates file (MSCE) for William Vicars. Within these documents should be a South African Death Notice, which will list any surviving children.

You now have to find a kind soul or researcher to go and have a look at these files for you. Try eggsa.org, they used to do a archives look up service (for a charge), worth checking if they do still, or join the South Africa list and ask there, someone may know a researcher who will go to the archives for you, but they may charge.

Best of Luck, Dorri
