Thanks very much to you both for replying to my request. I do have the
article from The Times newspaper and yes, this is definitely his father and
sister.
The information from the National Archives of South Africa is absolutely
fantastic, I wasn't aware that such information was available. I am
presuming S/SP refers to a spouse, if this is the case then Vicars must have
married again, either divorcing Isabella or she died.
I will take your advice and contact the South Africa list.
