Hi there
My 3rd great grandfather Jean Francois Chopin was born in Mauritius (St
Louis 1/1/1774) he found his way to England and then joined the East
India Company where he lived in Calcutta. His son John Howatson Chopin
and his wife died very young (24) but 1 month before his wife died his
son was born he was looked after by Wm H Twentyman (married Elizabeth
Mary Phipps) and Elizabeth May Twentyman. We always supposed that they
were just friends of the family but we discovered that John Howatson
Chopin's brother James Michael Chopin married Amy Matilda Northam (her
parent were Frances Phipps and Samuel Northam)and John Phipps, Charles
Horatio Twentyman and Wlliam John Twentyman are all buried in the same
family vault. We have the names of a few others is there a possible
link between the families?
Best Regards
Mike
