Subject: TWENTYMAN Mauritius and India

Thank you making contact. It has been a struggle sorting out the
TWENTYMANs who seemed to have wanderlust and appear in several countries.
What I will do is e-mail you directly what I have on my TWENTYMAN line.
There seems likely to be a connection as there can't be too many TWENTYMAN
families wandering the Indian Ocean. I also have TWENTYMANs appearing in
India, e.g. COL. WILLIAM LAURENCE TWENTYMAN was born December 12, 1834 in
Ile Maurice (Mauritius), and died December 17, 1888 in Oran, Algeria, but
was in India in about 1864.
You will see that there is also a large contingent of TWENTYMANs who
stayed in South Africa, indeed are still there.
Where abouts is your TWENTYMAN family vault to which you refer? I have
only details of one UK grave in Highgate cemetery of which I would like to
find the inscription some time.
Hope this is useful,
