Hi Zoe
Your posting has been the most positive one, I have seen regarding research
in Freetown. I have been trying since the 1970's without so much as a
reply.
I would certainly be interested in commisioning someone to do research on my
behalf, if you could pass on the details to me.
My Great Grandfather Robert Gustave Walker was Christened in Freetown on
the 23rd January 1857 his mother Judith Catherine Jarrett died there on the
12th May 1886. I am sure me and many others would love to hear more about
the postives and limitations of research in Freetown.
If we can make contact out there, the bigest obstacle is over, we all have
to take our chances with the records and registers still existing, but at
least we will know one way or another what is possible!
Thanks for giving us hope,
Jan
