I don't know if this is a potential lead or not, but at www.rhodesia.com
I found the following:

Louis Thackwray - Cape Town, South Africa Born 1949 in Que Que School
Que Que Worked for Military E-mail ()

I also checked the South African Archives, and though there are 143
records for Thackwray, non are for either Norman or Sheila.

Am trying to trace a Norman Thackwray and his wife Sheila (nee
Mackintosh) who were employed a few years ago in the Zimbabwe prison
service. I have lost touch with them. They may have gone to South
Africa.
Can someone please help as Sheila is one of a very few of my family that
is left?
