Subject: [AFR-ZIMBABWE] Travel to S. Rhodesia -1906

Am I right in thinking that to reach anywhere in Southern Rhodesia in the early 1900s, people would travel from
the U.K. by ship to Capetown and then travel northwards by train to Bulawayo, Salisbury, etc.?

My cousin has just sent me scans of all his uncle's postcards and photographs that were sent from Bulawayo &
Umtali in the early 1900s- the earliest being postmarked 1906. Hope to put up a gallery before too long with my
cousin's permission. A few that I managed to photograph are here:

BUT I still have to findout if Marer PALMER married Tom [surname unknown] before they went out to
Bulawayo. For reference, Marer [or Maria], was my grandfather's cousin.

Marer & Tom were in Bulawayo for a few years before moving upto Umtali - which makes me think he was
involved either with the railways or mining.

Grateful for any suggestions/advice as always.
