Jim,

Yes, under Name Search you can set up an Advanced filter for Name Contains
"Elizabeth".

Subject: [AFT] name searches

Is there a method within AFT for searching the AFT files for all people
named "Elizabeth," for instance, to get their maiden names? Or, better -
all people named Elizabeth who have a given married surname, to get their
maiden names? Each time I come across a list of deaths for a given area, for
instance, it consumes a great amount of time trying to establish who the
women are in a
large data base. The women are there under their maiden names, but a
death list, for example, will normally only show their married surnames.

I vaguely remember reading about a stand-alone software product that will do
this.

Any help with this situation will be appreciated.
