I am looking for the g grandparents of my Dad. I have very little information on them except that Catherine Agnew was
married to James P. Hawthorn. They had 2 children, Wm. J. (my g grandad) and Margaret G. What happened to Catherine
I do not know but James married a Winny Leadbetter in 1839
in Illinois. I desperately need some help finding Catherine Agnew Hawthorn. I believe, since James was born ca 1802 in S. Carolina, that she was born about the same time, the early
1800's. James' parents came from Kentucky so they obviously did a bit of traveling since he was born in SC and then ended up in Illinois. I have no clue as to where he met and married Catherine or where she was born. I have even less of a clue regarding her parents. But I do believe she lived and probably died, in Illinois some time in the 1830's as my g granddad was born in 1835 in Mason Co., Ill. and his dad re-married in 1939.
