I finally found the date of death for Roy Keene, and the county in which he
died (June 26, 1965 in Logan County). Unfortunately, when I wrote about a
death certificate, I was told that it was not on file, due to the fact that
his paper certificate was "overlapped" when they were changing the paper
certificates to the microfilm; and they did not learn of the error until
after all the paper certificates were destroyed. I was really pleased to
just get this much information. So, I am now in the process of checking
with the different funeral homes in the area for a funeral record. I have
several calls and letters out, so maybe something will turn up. I would like
to find the cemetery where he is buried, and hopefully the record will give
me the names of any family members. I am also checking for a newspaper
obituary. I learned recently that his full name was William Roy Keene. So I
am at least getting a little information. I'll let you know if I have any
success with the funeral homes and obituary.
