Subject: [AGS] {not a subscriber} 1880 Census, AR

My ggrandfather, Andrew J. McIntosh, was born in AR (unknown County) on
Apr 7, 1874. I located him on the 1900 census in Saratoga, Howard Co.,
AR. I'm searching for his parents. As he would be about age 6 and
living with his parents (probably) in 1880, I searched the 1880 soundex
to no avail. I then searched some Howard Co. and Little River county
census pages where I believed he may have lived only to find out that a
great number of the pages (microfilm) are simply illegible. Could this
account for him being missing on the 1880 census?
I belive his possible parents to be Andrew J. McIntosh, b. ca 1829 TN,
and Polly Ann. They are on the 1870 Census in Little RIver Co., AR. I
can't find either of them in 1880 either. Is it just me or is this a
common problem with the 1880 census in the areas I'm searching?
Bobby
