Issue 2-9-1865
Committed to the jail of Greene County, Alabama, on the 4th day of February
1865, as a runaway slave, a negro man who says his name is Boston, and that
he belongs to George Kidd, of Lagrange, Ga., and has been hired to Daniel
Parker , who is in the Confederate Army. Said man is 5' 5'' high, weighs
about 150 pounds, about 25 years old and of copper color.
Committed to the jail of Greene County, Ala., on the 20th day of August,
1864, as a runaway slave, a negro boy who says his name is Henry and that he
belongs to John Jackson, near Jackson, Mississippi. Said boy is 4' 9'' high,
120 lbs., about 14 years old and black.
Committed to the jail of Greene County, 8th of December 1864, a negro man who
says his name is William and he belongs to James Powell of Talladega, AL.
Said man is 5' 4'' high, 150 lbs., 45 or 50 years, and of copper color.

$25 Reward: Runaway from my plantation, on the 9th inst., a negro girl Jane
about 18 years old, slender built, and stands about 5' 6'' high. She is of a
dark complexion...Jane has been decoyed off by a free negro calling himself
John Stewart, who is thin visaged and of yellow color...Magdegan & Devan, or
by me Thomas Meriwether, August 16th
Committed to the jail of Talladega County, Alabama, on the 20th day of July
inst., a runaway negro man who calls his name Daniel, of dark complexion, 5'
8'' high, about 45 years old, he say he belongs to William Israel of Macon
County, Alabama.
Issue 4-5-1848
$10 Reward, ranway from the subscriber on the 7th inst., a negro man named
Green, about 22 years old, yellowish complexion, 5' 9'' or 10'' high,
straight and slender made. He was purchased by me, on the day he left, at the
sale of the administrators of David Walker, deceased...his delivery to me in
Talladega County. Joseph Keith.
