Hello:
Here is a bit I found on King's Pike County.
Monticello, Seat on Justice 1827-1838
(1) The next entry is a Deed of Gift to Judiann and Hypotitus King
The Villages (Good Hope)
(2) The owners of the store were the ancestors of Donie Davis King whose
husband O.D. King was a beloved blind storekeeper. Oscar D. King was blinded
in a hunting accident when he was 18. He went to Talladega School for the
blind and came back to Good Hope and taught music and tuned pianos for a
living.
The Villages (Goshen)
(3) G.S. King operated one of the major stores and was the first postmasters
after the town was moved from Goshen Hill.
(4) Kathleen Hall King served the Henderson schools for 33 years (1926-1959)
She taught in the three-room school and was principal of the new Charles
Henderson School built in 1931.
Morning Star Baptist Church
(5) Land on Hubbard Street was purchased from on of the church members, Mamie
King.
King Mill
(6) Fragments of information exist about a mill built by John Carnley "across
the river" in 1836. It was later called Sikes Mill, The Decent Mill and later
the King Mill, was lower down on the Conecuh. It was a saw and grist mill.
Lumber was produced at this mill as early as 1835.
Hope this is of some help. Not my line just sharing.
