Hi Katherine,
I have an old list of unincorporated populated places in Alberta and it
shows
Nightingale as being northeast of Calgary. If you go to the northeast
corner
of Calgary, it would be about 25 miles east.
Strathmore is about 10 miles south of where Nightingale would be. If this
is
the right place, it is not near Edmonton.
If you are interested, I could scan part of a map for you tomorrow, and
it to you.

Subject: [ALBERTA] NIGHTINGALE, EDMONTON
Hi Everyone
Is there anyone out there that tell me exactly where my grand-parents and
family homesteaded in Nightingale, Edmonton from 1921 - 1934.
I believe they lived on a farm one and one-half miles west of Nightingale -
where can I view this on a map?
The family names are HYNAM (Owned the blacksmiths shop), BISACRE (Frank
drove the school bus), OSMOND (Walter killed by lightening in cornfield).
There neighbours were KIMMETT, HARRIMAN, STOUDLEY, DOUGAN.
Still hoping to purchase the book 'English Colony - Nightingale and
District' published by the WI, the info gathered by Harvey Dougan on behalf
of his mother in the 70's. I have written to him at an address in Strathmore
but my letter has been returned to me today, unfortunately I can not read
the official stamp as to why it was returned.
Please keep an eye out for the book in possibly second-hand book shops.
My niece is visiting Edmonton next year and would dearly love to see where
her great-grandparents homesteaded.
Regards
Kathrine
