Subject: [ALBERTA] Help YOURSELF to Gain Release of Post-1901 Census Records!!
Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2001 23:33:30 -0500

To all searching for lost family members or enjoy genealogy:-

We could all join together and assist in giving ourselves the best gift of all --
taking a part toward release of Post-1901 census records, starting with 1906
(prairies) and 1911 Canadian.

Murray Calder, MP had Bill C-312 in the House of Commons, and since being
declared NON-VOTABLE, he will have only ONE hour of debate and NO
vote in House of Commons. It would be nice to have a huge stack of petitions
for late in February.

Senator Lorna Milne's Bill S-12 has passed Second Reading, has been released
from the committee WITHOUT amendments, and is now heading toward Third
Reading, Debate and Vote. WHEN passed in the Senate, it goes to House of
Commons. Again, stacks of SENATE petitions would be great!!!

Non-Residents may assist us -- many have roots or were formerly Canadians.

Snow Birds enjoying the sunny climes -- with a permanent Canadian address --
may use the Canadian petitions -- just add a "sticky" note to let me know.

Petitions -- both languages -- may be downloaded from
http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/Petition.htm

Please ask your Member of Parliament or Senator for support, or thank the ones
who show support of census release.

Merry Christmas to all -- have petitions ready for company to sign!!
