Dear Fellow Researchers,
In the 1860 census I find several Wallaces families listed in Conecuh Co. in
the Sepulga area. I am particularly interested in the household headed by
Obediance (Obedia) Wallace, an older woman, although I believe the other
nearby households were related. As many of you know, the Sepulga area borders
on Butler Co., and the descendants of this family lived near Midway, which
apparently straddles the line between Monroe and Conecuh Counties. Obediance,
my great-great-great grandmother, is buried at Asbury Methodist Church
Cemetery.
I'm also researching another family in the same area, descendants of John W.
Morgan, listed in the 1850 census as well as later ones. Some of these
Morgans are buried in the Asbury Methodist Church Cemetery as well, but the
particular person I am interested in, John Morgan, son of the above listed
John W. Morgan, is buried in Middleton Cemetery, just a short distance away
but in Monroe County.
I would be interested in contact with anyone who might be researching these
families. I know of at least one other person researching one of the Wallaces
near my Obediance.
