I have only been on these list for slightly over a week. I am
forwarding a post to these tow lists a post I made to the Manning list
sometime ago. Cates were from Edgefield District, South Carolina, c.
1820's.

I have been lurking on the list for about a week. Not much activity.
Who is the list owner and how many people are on the list?
Is anyone researching Mannings who migrated from somewhere in North
Carolina to Butler County, Alabama, around the area of Fort Deposit?
Richard Manning migrated from somewhere in North Carolina according
to the 1850 census of Butler County, Alabama, sometimes before 1850 and
reared a large family in the area. Need Richard's origins in North
Carolina and maiden name of his wife, Lottie. Two of their daughters
married Cates half brothers. Mahlon and Needham Cates.
