If you are searching for the Pugh family name, I suggest that you check out
the Lowndes County Records. The Pou (Pugh) family name is found in
Orangeburg SC and relationships can be found to the Salley, Jones, and
Friday families. John Martin Sally (b 26 Mar 1778 SC) and wife Elizabeth
Pou (b. 9 Apr 1796) are mentioned in land records in Lowndes County in the
1830's. There was a lot of migration from SC to this area in the late 1820's
and early 1830's. Some Butler and Dallas county land records may be found in
Lowndes county deed books.
I do not have details on the relationships nor do I have any info on the
Jones or Pugh (Pou) families. I am just offering an area for research.

:I would like to communicate with anyone researching the Jones family that
:lived in Butler County in the mid 1800's. There was probably more than
:one, of course. I just found the name of Aldine Jones who married Jeremiah
:Pugh. Was Aldine the sister of John Jones who married Eliza Riley?
:
:Does anyone know anything about John Jones who was called "Bud?"
:
:Thank you for any information. Freda
