I am looking for information on Benjamin HILDRETH who was a local preacher
for the Methodist Church. He and family left Coffee Co., Alabama after the
1860 census and moved to the Greenville, Butler Co., Alabama area. Benjamin
HILDRETH (born 15 Mar 1802 South Carolina and died 26 Nov 1868 in Butler
Co., Alabama)
+ married Jemima Anna DOWLING in 1823 most likely in Darlington District of
South Carolina. Jemima Dowling HILDRETH was born 1 Mar 1807 Darlington
District, South Carolina and died 8 Feb 1891 in Coffee Co., Alabama and is
buried in City Cemetery in Enterprise, Coffee Co., Alabama.
I am looking for church information and newspaper and obituary information
from Butler Co., Alabama if available.
Also am trying to find out who the following is and how related to the
HILDRETH family.
Azariah Witkowski (born 27 Apr 1855 - died 10 Jun 1870 and is listed on the
same tombstone as Benjamin HILDRETH. He is listed in the 1860 Alabama,
Coffee Co. Census as Azariah W. HILDRETH.
He is on a List of the Names of the Militia in Coffee County, Alabama March
14, 1864
