I find my gggrandfather receiving bounty land for the Mexican war in Butler co, Al. Checking more, I see names like ASA CHARLES ISAAC WILLAM J. ABRAHAM DANIEL HIRAM All near each other and next door, near McKenzy , Butler Co.
Checked more and found DRURY J. BROOKS owned the 40 acres just west of CHARLES PEAVY in section 8 in my sketch
Found your address on rootsweb messages. As per my grandfather [Willam O. Peevy];: my ggrandfather came to Texas about 1850 and was from Butler Co. Al. Name Hiram T .Peevy [High] b. 1833. Father born in Ga. Mother born in S.C. High and wife born in Al. 1880 census has him a widower with four children [ages 20 to 7] in Hunt Co.Tx. I believe that the HIRAM and SARAH PEEVY in 1850 Butler Co. census are [Highs]parents.. High and children came to Callahan Co. Tx. IN 1883. I sure would like to know HIRAM and SARAH S kin in Butler Co.
