I noticed that you had listed the COATS family name. Our line is Clarence Alexander "Stump" Coates. His brother spelled his name like yours. His name was Woody Albert Coats. They were born in Robertson County, Texas, possibly to Nat Coates. Their mother was Allie Bates. Stump was born about 1882. We don't know which county in Alabama their family lived in before moving to Texas. Just wondered if there might be a connection.
