Before coming to America, there was a Norwegian connection it appears.
Aase Thagaard Jensen (Aalborg, Denmark) wrote the following: "If You know anyone Thagard’s who have Norwegian ancestry’s , they come from my line , because it is my 6 or 7 Great , Great Grandfather his half brother moved to Norway and he started the Norwegian line". My Aunt Ruby Thagard Rudine (1908-1994)(U.S.A) who did research on our ancestry.
stated that she traced the family back to Norway. The Thagaards/Thagard's traveled from Norway to France and then to the United States. Debby Rodgers is also a Neice (a great Neice of Ruby Thagard Rudine), she may have more information on this. She and Ruby researched the Thagard/Thagaard family ancestry.
