Ruth Delia (Hicks) Black died this morning at 6:00 a.m.in her sleep. Ruth was born to Robert Huie Hicks and Bessie Florence Dunlap in the Starlington community of Butler County, Alabama on August 11, 1915 and died in a Mobile county nursing home at age 90. She had returned to the Starlington area after the death of her father in 1969, to care for her mother and remained there until her recent failing health required her to move into a nursing home. She is survived by her only child, Hubert Jackson Black, Sr. and many grand and great-grandchildren and neices and nephews in Butler County and Mobile, Alabama and although she was ready to go, she will be missed by many who loved her.
