BURGANS, Betty (50), a resident of Georgiana passed away at her residence Friday, August 04, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Wilton Burgans (Georgiana); a daughter, Crystal Burgans (Georgiana); a son, Derrick Burgans (Georgiana); one sister, Margie Ainsworth (Forest Home); and one unborn grand-hild. Visitation services will be held from 6pm-8pm Saturday, August 06, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, Au-gust 07, 2005 at 2 pm at Johnson Funeral Home with interment at Providence Cemetery.

BURKETT, Manuel Elmer, 65, a resi-dent of Georgiana died Monday, August 15, 2005. Funeral services will be 11 am, Wednesday, August 17, 2005 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Survivors include: Wife, Betty Burkett, Geor-giana; daughter, Trish Bass, Georgiana; grandchildren, Cody Burkett, Carmen Bozeman, Caitlin Bozeman all of Georgiana, Shay Burkett, Amber Burkett, Corey Burkett, and Evan Burkett, all of Brewton; mother-in-law, Lucille McNeil, Georgiana. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to First Baptist Church of Georgiana Building Fund.

HIX, Annie Laurie, age 89, a resident of Montgomery, AL died Friday in a Montgomery Nusrsing Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 11 am from Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Shepard officiating, Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Louise Waters of Dothan; two nieces, Mrs.Laurie W. McLean of Montgomery and Mrs. Pattie Alexander of Dothan; one nephew, Mr. Lee E. Waters of Dothan; one great niece, Julianne L. Wright of Dothan; and one great nephew, Jared D. Alexander of Dot-han. Visitation will be one hour be-fore the graveside services at the funeral home Tuesday.

MANNING, Mrs. Ida Estelle, age 98, of Georgiana, Alabama died September 2, 2005 in a Georgiana Hos-pital. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2005 from The Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Golden officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery with Johnson Fu-neral Home of Georgiana direct-ing. Survivors are four sons, Mr. Donald (Carole) Manning of Camden, Conrad Manning of Molina, FL, Harry (Becky) Manning of Chapman, Harold "Chubby" Manning of Georgiana; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren. Pallbearers are John Manning, Paul Manning, Don Manning Jr., Earnie Lewis, Jason Butts and Clem Rogers. Mrs. Man-ning was a life long resident of Butler County and the Avant Community where she and her late hus-band, E.C. Manning, ran Manning Store for several years and is still a reference point for giving directions or location in the area.

BLACK, Mrs. Ruth Hicks, age 90, of Georgiana, Alabama passed away on September 26, 2005. She was born August 11, 1915. Mrs. Black lived in Mobile for many years. She retired from the A&P Tea Co. after 30 years of service. She was married to Leston L. Black for 64 years. Mrs. Black is survived by one son, Hubert J. Black, Jr. (Opal) of Mo-bile, Alabama; two granddaughters, LeAnne Coury of Gallipalias, Ohio and Kelle Cameron (Lain) of Mobile; one grandson, Hubert J. Black; three great grandsons, Hubert J. Black III (Melissa), Robert Courty and Hunter Cameron; three great granddaughters, Tara Lusk, Jessica Black and Hannah Cameron; two great great grandchildren of Gallipalias, Ohio.
